About Thom Tollerson, Director and Principal Instructor:   An accomplished master guitarist, Thom has performed as a studio and stage musician in New York, Nashville, Los Angeles and Atlanta.

Thom began teaching six months after he started playing at the age of 14. Thom developed his own teaching syllabus and taught in the California School System.  He  went on to develop a mail-order guitar course sold in comic books throughout America. After that he taught at Emory University's Evening at Emory program where he fine-tuned his teaching methods and students' survival rates.

Thom directed his first choir at age 16 in church and directed the sophomore high school choir as a senior while still in high school.  He was the vocal arranger for his own touring  vocal group, the Kindred Spirit.  Thom  has been the musical director for plays, and composed original music for stage productions.  He has extensive choir directing and music ministry experience, and been teaching voice since the age of 32 - even to those who "can't sing" as well as to those who can ! Students should expect to learn a general course of music including the ins and outs of music theory so that they can truly find out how the songs they love really work. Thom frequently transcribes songs to paper for his students during their lessons, whether on banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass, or voice.

in 2001, Thom, and Becky and their daughters, Jenna and Sarah, opened 106 West, a performance venue and teaching studio located in Winder, GA.

Thom has  been playing the guitar and singing since childhood  and it is his strong wish to pass on what he has learned and that is why he teaches.  His best hope would be to inculcate a love of music and the ability to make that music with one's hand and voice so that if you wish and work, you can Make Your Own Kind Of Music.

Reach Your Own Unique Potential.
